Thanksgiving is right around the corner…I know, this is incredible. It seems like the year is flying.
What are your plans for Thanksgiving? Do you host the meal? Do you travel? How about people who visit big restaurants? Maybe we’ll get some good ideas to try or ways to avoid the things we don’t want to do!
Here are some to start the discussion:
Breakfast in the Morning: You don’t want to load up! There is a great feast on the way. Muffins and small pastries are the way to go…and of course some good coffee or tea. Some people meet friends for the local high school football game or play some cold golf or even just meet for a cup of coffee. Many times the cook wants to kick others out of the house so there is more room to work!
Appetizers before the meal: Veggies and Hummus are a great way to go. Healthy and not too filling, the main event is on the way! Guests start arriving and the turkey needs to sit but the conversation needs a starter and appetizers are perfect.
The Meal: Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Corn, Stuffing, Gravy…oh my. What are your favorites? Do you want to add Butternut Squash to the meal, how about Sweet Potatoes? Do you have a huge crew over? Or an intimate dinner? Ask what people like and let them bring a favorite!
Dessert: First take a break and a nap. You’ll need to let things digest. then how about some Pumpkin Pie or Apple Pie or some cookies…wait how about Bread Pudding. So many choices! Don’t forget the coffee or tea. Get out of the house or have more people over. It is great to start the season with a post feast dessert party.
There are many opportunities to enjoy Thanksgiving. Don’t get us wrong, we understand that it can also be stressful. Menu planning, keeping track of guests and more. We are here to help keep the stress level to a minimum. (Sorry, we can’t help with the annoying in-laws. Unless you want to keep their mouths full of our DELIcious! food.)
